In order to activate a Solid Edge nodelocked license (including demo/trial licenses), we require your disk serial number. This article explains where to find the disk serial number.

Method 1: If Solid Edge is not installed on the computer

1. On Windows XP click on the Start button.

2. Click on Run... and type cmd and press enter.

3. A black DOS window will appear. Enter c: (i.e. the letter "c" with a colon) and press enter to ensure that you are on the c-drive*.

4. Type vol and press enter. The eight digit volume serial number will now be displayed.

* Presumably the operating system is installed on the c-drive. If this is not the case use the appropriate drive letter.

Method 2: If Solid Edge is installed on the computer

If Solid Edge is installed on the computer you can either use method 1 or method 2.

1. Cick on Start > All Programs > Solid Edge ST > Licensing... > License Utility

2. The disk serial number will now be displayed at the top left corner of the License Utility
