I am using SE 20 atomic parts list with a lot of part variable. All my parts/templates has variable that I use to determine the material size/profile/ length totals. SE gives the data as \"text\" (example 20.00mm). It there a way to get this data as figures only? Alternative. Is there a Excel macro to convert it to figures without the \"mm\" ? Dirk

I am not sure how to change the way the dimension/variable is displayed on the parts list, but if you want to use MS Excel to change it you can use the following function: =LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-3) (Presuming the text is in cell A1) [b]LEFT[/b] => take the left part of the text Parameter 1 is the input string, say cell A1 Parameter 2 is the lenght of the string you want to take. We substitute the [b]LEN [/b]function for paramter 2. LEN => Gets the length of the a string Putting it all together: We take the left part of cell A1 for its whole length minus 3, because of the length of the unwanted \" mm\"
