I am experiencing a similar problem trying to install ST2 on windows 7, I have tried the SECleanup utility but it still says a previous version is installed! Any clues?
I solved it!!!
I had to disable the User Access Control (UAC) by going into control panel, action center, change user account control settings, and then oving the slider down to 'never notify'. This followed by a re-boot and re-running the SECleanup utility has now allowed me to re-install without the error message.. Think I just need to re-enable UAC once installed and all should be good.
It is important to make sure that UAC (user account control) is switched off on Windows 7 and Windows vista when installing Solid Edge.
UAC denies the installer full access to the computer and consequently Solid Edge does not install correctly. Usually the PDF printer (i.e. the Save as PDF function) fails to install.
If you’re using Solid Edge or another 3D CAD system and are interested in exploring designing with synchronous technology, this is the place to start. These materials will help get you going.
